It has been over a year since we started working with programs in different states and we have grown in every aspect since that time. When we started, it was enough to work with the tutors we were able to hire, but as time went on, we needed to put out calls to integrate new tutors into our team and get our former tutors ready to take on larger positions and that is why we are pleased to introduce a special category of educators who go above and beyond the Super tutors!
These are not your typical tutors; they are the backbone of several programs, working full-time to ensure the success of both our students and the learning environment as a whole.
The Role of a Super Tutor
We currently have about 10 programs in different states that we tutor so that their students can reach their full potential or be ready for state exams.
Our super tutors are an integral part of their perfect functioning. Not only are they educators, but they also play a critical role in enhancing the overall educational experience for students. Let’s explore some of the key functions that make them stand out:
1. Reporting and Communication
For each program, we have Papaya Super Tutors in charge of communication between tutors and Papaya team members and school coordinators to report and coordinate daily classroom happenings. This ensures that challenges are addressed quickly, maintaining a positive and effective learning environment.
2. Onboarding and Collaboration
For every new school or program they support, Supertutors engage in onboarding sessions with both the K-12 School Success Strategist and the Student Success Lead. This collaborative approach ensures a smooth integration and understanding of the unique requirements of each educational setting.
3. Data Oversight
Supertutors assist in overseeing student data, gathering insights from other tutors, and identifying areas of struggle. This data-driven approach helps us tailor our support to meet the specific needs of both students and tutors.
4. Training and Support
Supertutors play a crucial role in training other tutors on the implementation of resources and curriculum for tutoring sessions. They provide valuable support to tutors, ensuring that everyone is equipped with the tools they need for success. If additional support is required, they seamlessly reach out to the Act Manager.
5. Student Success Management
Dedicated to student success, Supertutors are responsible for teaching classes in the various programs on a full-time basis, updating incoming information daily and analyzing survey data to improve the overall learning experience.
6. Rubrics and Strategies
Supertutors actively review rubrics and report any uncompleted ones to tutors. They play a crucial role in guiding tutors with strategies and materials, ensuring that each student receives the support they need to excel in their educational journey.
